Warehouse Floor Marking Helps Separate People And Forklifts
Alberta workplace safety rules require employers to control vehicle traffic where it puts workers on foot at risk, and to provide designated walkways where it is reasonable to do so. Warehouse floor marking is a simple, widely used way to show those routes.
The rules do not set one colour scheme for every building, so we work with your safety lead to lay out lanes and walkways that match your own plan. Yellow lanes, green or white walkways and red and white hatching around hazards are common choices.
Warehouse Floor Marking That Lasts Under Forklifts
Paint on bare concrete wears off quickly under forklift tires, especially at the turns. Lines last much longer when they are built into a coating, with the lines laid on the base coat and sealed under the clear topcoat.
On an existing coated floor, we use a durable coating made for line work, and we grind the surface first so it bonds. Turning areas at the ends of aisles get the toughest material, because that is where tires scrub the hardest.
Warehouse Floor Marking With Minimal Downtime
Most warehouse floor marking can be done at night or over a weekend, and many lines are dry enough to drive on within hours. We mark and paint one area after another, and traffic carries on around us.
Line work pairs well with a new warehouse floor coating, because both can be done in the same shutdown.
