Not Every Part Of A Warehouse Floor Wears The Same
A warehouse floor coating does not need to be the same thickness everywhere. The main forklift lanes, the turning areas at the ends of aisles and the dock aprons take most of the wear. The racked storage areas take very little.
We build the coating thicker where the traffic is heaviest and lighter under the racks. That gives you a longer lasting floor for the same money. We also repair the joints along the main lanes, because broken joint edges are where forklift wheels start to chip a floor apart.
Warehouse Floor Coating Around Racking And Stock
Moving a whole warehouse is not practical, so we work in zones. Stock is shifted from one section into the next as the warehouse floor coating moves across the building, and we keep a clear route open for shipping and receiving.
Racked areas can be coated around the uprights, or racks can be moved section by section if you want a full floor. We work out the best approach with you at the site walk.
Warehouse Floor Coating And Line Marking Together
Forklift lanes, walkways and storage bays are easiest to mark while the floor is being coated. Lines built into the warehouse floor coating last far longer than paint on bare concrete, because they sit under the topcoat instead of on top of it.
Alberta workplace safety rules require employers to control vehicle traffic where it puts workers on foot at risk, and clear lanes and walkways are one of the simplest ways to do that. See our warehouse floor marking page for more.
